The best holidays ever

 At the beginning of this year 2021, in February, I went to the Araucanía region, specifically to Cunco to visit my dad. He's been living there for 1 year, and since that period we haven't see him. I went with my best friend and we were 1 full week enjoying.

As it was a whole new place for us, we were dedicated to touring the village. We went to every supermarket we saw, toured all the craft fairs we found and enjoyed the pool at my dad's house in us spare time. My dad works as a master carpenter, so in the morning we would help him and during the afternoon we would go for a walk. The last day we visited a lake that was 15 minutes from the my dad's house by car, we were bathing all day, alone in the place: My dad, my best friend, my dad's partner, her son and me.

It was my best vacation because I was with people I haven't seen in a long time. My dad's personality is quite relaxed and, outside of household chores, he let us enjoy the place quietly. We didn't have a fixed plan every day, we just relaxed and found new and innovative things to do day by day.

Which country would you like to go to?

 I would very much like to visit South Korea, specifically the providence of Busan and Jeju island.

It has beautiful landscapes and beaches, especially I would love to go in winter and spend the holidays there. I know that Korea in general is a country a bit complicated by its strict society, so I wouldn't go to stay, but I think it would be a quiet holiday destination. I would love to go for a daily walk or bike ride, go to the beach during the cold weather and sit for spend an afternoon in silence, alone.

If I would like to go to work there, but only for a short time. I do not much like the ways of thinking they have, although I love their culture and past. They have beautiful architectural constructions and it would be beautiful to carry out an anthropological project around that, but I would not like go to study because of the rejection that exists towards foreigners and the exaggerated bullying in schools and universities. So, I could not accept their stereotypes.

My connection with English

It's just a very bad connection. I have always had trouble speaking in English. I think because of bad experiences with high school teachers. In the same way, I never had  English in the basic school and whenever I am in class I feel very embarrassed because I think I am the most backward. I would love to learn English, it is a language that areo opens many doors in academic tone and work, but it costs me too much, especially speak it and understand when others speak with me. So sorry in advance. In conclusion, I do not hate or love English, I just want to bring a relationship in peace, not to the toxic.

An evaluation of your blogging experience

    Participating in a blogging activity was very relaxing and something new for me. I'm very shy and hate to participate in class, adding that I'm terrible speaking in English. It was almost a sigh of relief to be able to manage activities that did not involve talking. 

    It would not include anything else in the future. Our teacher made us develop entertaining blogs, of more subjective and personal things. It was more of a relaxation activity than a horrible task. I would like to write about movies or favorite series, to be able to include some recommended by my colleagues in my "to see" list!

A subject you have enjoyed studying this year

During this semester I have fallen totally in love with the course "Cazadores recolectores", especially the subject associated with shamanism and all the artistic expressions that these groups develop around their religiosity.

Mainly, our professor Diego Artigas, took us into this research through various mandatory texts of the field, being my favorite "Chamanismo en la prehistora" by Clottes and Lewis-Williams. For personal research, around his relationship with art, one of my favorite texts has been “El arte corporal Selk’nam y su carácter iconográfico" by Flores and Correa, which we used with my partner in an activity evaluated.

Both texts delve into both body art and cave art (of caves) associating it with their cosmology and mythology. How they represent their connection and communication, generated through various initiation rites and rituals, with the spirits of their ancestors, representing them in trace on cave walls or personifying their spiritual figures through body art and dances. The theme of symbolism projected by this art and the cosmic world that each cultural group perceives is a vast and very interesting world, bringing together mythology and art, subjects that I am too passionate about, in a composite whole.

This picture was taken by a friend with his girlfriend, both are very close to my friendly circle.

        Sincerely I like it very much for how simple it is, and although it simply shows the landscape of a beach plus a beautiful flower in its corner, it brings to mind instantly all my family holidays, and at the same time makes me feel calm, perhaps even in solitude but from a positive point of view, as if the essence of that flower was entirely mine. Another thing I enjoy about this photo is the place where it was taken. Anyone wanted to be there right now, but because of the current health emergency conditions, it's impossible, so it makes me feel on the beach, and a fresh air for the current stress.

A person or expert in your field that you admire

 

One of the most inspiring people for me is Iván Cáceres Roque. He is a Chilean anthropologist and archaeologist who graduated from the university of Chile in the 1980s.

Ivan Caceres dedicated himself to the excavation in archaeological sites linked to the violation of human rights during the period of military dictatorship in Chile, finding remains of many missing detainees. His most renowned works were carried out in archaeological excavations at "Los Hornos de Lonquén", "Colonia Dignidad "and" Patio 29 " and his current contributions are a great to Chilean Forensic Archeology and Bioarcheology.

Your work I find very interesting and is very important for memory and justice in our country. His work is, in the actuality, a great  judicial, historical, and cultural contribution and It is a great consolation for all affected Chilean families.
